Clips: ‘Kick Ass’ SDCC Footage

Kick Ass

Source: YouTube

So apparently the sleeper at Comic-Con was Matthew Vaughn’s adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic KICK ASS, which had just begun it’s run when the film was optioned. Through some weird collaboration, the two parties were able to create an ultra-violent world where all those comic book fantasies have very real-life consequences. While not a fan of the slow paced comic, the film is an incredible surprise. This is not Stardust; it might not even be Layer Cake. The clips below are remarkably intense, and the film’s dark humor and unwillingness to play by the rules is a breath of fresh air. And dare I say, this is the best role Nicolas Cage has played in years — YEARS! He’s having so much fun, how can you seriously expect the audience not to? Check out the clips. Great stuff.

AWESOME YES?! Chloe Moretz is about to become everyone’s favorite badass, so it’s a shame this isn’t coming out this Winter or Spring; a December 2010 release date seems kind of odd for a film like this. Kick Ass is directed by Matthew Vaughn from a script by Vaughn and Jane Goldman (Stardust). It stars Aaron Johnson as Kick Ass, Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy, Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl, Mark Strong as Frank D’Amico, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist.

Watch The Entire SDCC Lost Panel!

Posted by Brian on 07/26/2009

LOST (inversion)Source: Youtube

LOST is absolutely my favorite show of all time. It’s critical adherence to excellence, their willingness to accept blame whenever they cut corners, and their dedication to their fanbase is above and beyond any show like it (except perhaps Buffy The Vampire Slayer). I mean, I have a Dharma tattoo for godsakes. So imagine how crestfallen and heartbroken I was not being able to attend their last year at the Con. Seriously, I’m one of those sleeping on the street all night people. So enough about me and my gushing over-praise of LOST, and onto the full panel in its entirety. Ahead of time, most of the pre-taped footage and skits are edited out of the piece, but I’ve managed to track down quite a few of them.

Present at the panel were executive producers Carlton Cuse & Damon Lindelof, castmembers Jorge Garcia, Michael Emerson, Josh Holloway, and Nestor Carbonell. It’s pretty entertaining, as always, and doesn’t touch on much of what we can expect in it’s final season. However, they did show some VERY interesting viral clips that hint at what may have happened after Juliet, pissed at losing the hottest guy on the island, hit a nuke with a very big rock several times. By the way, Juliet is confirmed to be seen in the final season as will twitchy-physicist, Daniel Farady. As are “several castmembers we haven’t seen since the first season.” Um. AWESOME!

Trailers: ‘Tron: Legacy’ High-Def Test Footage

Posted by Brian on 07/24/2009

Wow. It’s like Disney heard me. There aren’t even words to describe how brilliant this teaser for Tron: Legacy looks (which means that Avatar will probably destroy my retinas and leave me shaking in awe & wonder). This footage was discovered at the Flynn Lives site after entering a series of codes, and premiered at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. While not actual footage from the film, this exciting test reel was used to sell the film. Check it out below, or download at the above link in HD and be blown away by so much awesome.

Check out these Transfrormers 2 viral vids that bring that robots into our world. They come from the character Leo’s blog in the movie that traces and tries to track these appearances all over the world. The second video is my favorite.

The Films Of George Simmons

Posted by Brian on 06/17/2009

The Films of George SimmonsSource: Official Site

If you don’t know who George Simmons is, don’t worry. Adam Sandler isn’t pulling a Garth Brooks. George Simmons is the character Sandler plays in Judd Apatow’s upcoming Funny People. His official site recently went live and has clips and posters from his backlog of films. The above collage comes from /Film. I highly recommend checking out the site and the synopsis for the films. I’d pay to see Adam Sandler do these ridiculous movies for real.

We’re seven days out from a whole frak-load of robot mayhem and to celebrate, here’s a couple of new clips from the film. Look, I know the humor sucks and it sounds like Linkin Park did the entire damn score, but it looks SO DAMN COOL. I’m gonna go shut up now. Just watch.

Clips: 12 Minutes Of Ronald D. Moore’s ‘Virtuality’

Posted by Brian on 06/16/2009

Cast of 'Virtuality'Source: James Hibbard’s Live Feed

Here’s a really cool extended sneak peek at Ronald D. Moore’s (Battlestar Galactica), Virtuality.

The two hour pilot follows about a dozen astronauts, the subject of a futuristic reality television show, on a journey crucial to the survival of life on Earth. The crew of the Phaeton is approaching the go/no-go point of their epic 10-year journey through outer space. With the fate of Earth in their hands, the pressure is intense. The best bet for helping the crew members maintain their sanity is the cutting-edge virtual reality technology installed on the ship. It’s the perfect stress-reliever until they realize a glitch in the system has unleashed a virus on to the ship. Tensions mount as the crew decides how to contain the virus and complete their mission.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Since Fox sucks huge, they’ve dumped the two-hour pilot as a movie on a Friday in the Summer (June 26th to be exact) and pretty much destroyed any hope that this will get a series pickup. But that’s exactly what I thought about Dollhouse so who knows? Seems really cool, though.

Clips: Megan Fox & Wheelie In ‘Transformers 2’

Posted by Brian on 06/12/2009

Here’s a short clip from Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen. I don’t think many people will be into this, as it just seems to be more of the first’s unnecessary humor. I dig it, tho.

The film was written by Duncan Jones and Nathan Parker, and was picked up at Sundance by Sony Pictures Classic. It will be released this June in limited release.

Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is an employee contracted by the company Lunar to mine on the Moon the natural gas Helium 3, which could reverse Earth’s energy crisis. An extraction goes wrong, and Sam suspects Lunar of trying to replace him as he realises someone else is on the Moon.

Clips: ‘Transformers 2’

Posted by Brian on 06/01/2009

00024646Source: MTV

Another MTV exclusive aired during their increasingly inane MTV Movie Awards. This clip comes from this summer’s highly anticipated Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen, and includes Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox hiding out from a lot of Decepticons. These clips are being taken down almost immediately so enjoy it while you can.

The higher quality MTV version seems to have disappeared, but we’ll upload a better version if/when it resurfaces. Michael Bay, blowing it all up June 24th 2009.
