Finally, Facebook is good for something. After the pretty crap quality trailer that leaked Thursday, we now have a high definition look at Alice In Wonderland, Tim Burton’s latest remake of demented children’s tales. I personally think this looks perfect for Burton, but Depp seems to be channeling a lot of the silly characters he’s been playing lately (Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka) and I’d personally like to see something a lot darker for this.
The film will be released March 5th 2010, and will use a technique combining live action, motion capture technology, and stop motion. Mia Wasikowska will play the role of Alice, alongside Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as The White Queen. The script was written by Linda Wolverton (Beauty And The Beast, The Lion King)
Those exclusive images from Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland that debuted at USA Today have shown up online in super high definition. I really suggest taking a look at these as the details in this concept art and, more to the point, the character banners is stunning. The only picture that seems to be missing is the banner for Tweedledee and Tweedledum, played by Matt Lucas (Little Britain). So click these for SUPER-DAMN HUGE pictures.

USA Today has debuted some gorgeous shots of concept art from Tim Burton’s upcoming take on Alice In Wonderland, while, the character banner for Matt Lucas as Tweedledee and Tweedledum comes from Movies.ie. The film is not an adaptation of the novel, but rather follows a 17-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) attending a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. She runs off, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited a decade before yet doesn’t remember. The sequel was penned by Linda Woolverton.

I’m really excited about this film. It looks absolutely amazing and seems to have a bleaker tone than anything we’ve seen in an animated feature in awhile. It’s again directed by Shane Acker, and based on his Oscar-nominated short.
ImpAwardshas premiered a Russian poster for the stunning looking film, 9. Taking place in a world parallel to our own, a group of ragdolls living a post-apocalyptic existence find one of their own, 9, who may be the key to their survival. I’m really excited about this animated feature. It’s darker than almost all of them, and it’s visual quality seems to be higher than anything DreamWorks Animation has ever put out. Count me in!
The cast includes Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Christopher Plummer, and Martin Landau. 9 isĀ directed by Shane Acker from a screenplay by Acker and Pamela Pettler (Corpse Bride, Monster House). The film is based on his 2005 Oscar-nominated short. The film is produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Wanted).
