Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer, Milk) and Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen, Twilight) are teaming up to reinvent Shakesperian legend, Hamlet for Overture Films. Ron Nyswaner, best known for penning Oscar-winner Philadelphia, will write the script based on an idea by Hirsch and Hardwicke.

The new version, set in contemporary America, a young man must decide whether to kill his uncle to avenge the death of his father. Milk” producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen said their “goal is to present the story as a suspense thriller.
