Chris Pine, fresh off a huge win with his star-making turn in Star Trek, has signed on to co-star with Denzel Washington in Tony Scott’s upcoming Unstoppable. The film based on a script by Mark Bomback story centers on an experienced train engineer (Washington) about to be laid off as part of company cutbacks and the newbie conductor hired to replace him. Pine would play the newbie as they find themselves in a race against time to stop an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying enough combustible liquids and poisonous gas to wipe out a nearby city.

I’ve really enjoyed Pine in the few films I’ve seen him in. He was demented genius in Smokin’ Aces, and I couldn’t even belive it was the same person when they announced him for Star Trek. He turned out to be a perfect choice, so I really can’t wait to see what he does next.
