Concept Art: ‘Avatar’

MarketSaw, the only site where anything tangible about James Camerson’s heavily anticipated film Avatar ever surfaces, has revealed two shots of early concept art from the film. The shots were approved by Fox, so they’re legit. The first piece of concept art was drawn by Dylan Cole. MarketSaw is still trying to get confirmation on artist of the second piece.

The first pic contains a full shot of the PowerSuit, mechanized armor that is used to protect against the wildly indigineous creatures of Pandora and to prevent the operator from breathing the poisonous Pandorian air. A shot of the practical PowerSuit from the waist down showed up earlier this week. The second shot is a futuristic helicopter being chased by three alien creatures which may or may not be Bansheerays. Enjoy the pics below.

Avatar is written and directed by James Cameron. It is his first theatrical feature, discounting documentaries, in over a decade. It hits theaters December 18, 2009.
